Product Description
This pick is manufactured from 0.015 thick Government Steel and is then molded into a blue tone plastic handle. This is our very thinnest series of picks. They are useful for locks having very narrow key ways.
As they are somewhat thinner than the 0.018 picks, they are designed without the 0.018 series "Euro" shank reduction in order to maintain more strength while providing egress into very restrictive key ways.
Please note that as these picks are specially designed to provide access into narrow key ways where standard picks will not fit. This reduction in width comes at a logical cost in rigidity. Using these picks in wider key ways means you will lose the side to side lateral support for your pick that a narrow key way provides. If you are heavy handed you may find that these picks will try to flex sideways, or even bend under high pressure in locks with wide key ways.

Go To Profile
If you told me life was on the line and I had to choose one profile to open a pin-tumbler, I would choose this pick. I am heavy handed, and so my trusty No. 7 is a little bent up, but it's also literally picked thousands of opens and it's never warped or bent. Great feedback on pin heads, high enough to get high set pins, low enough not to over set anything, and it laughs at nasty paracentric keyways. Love my No. 7.

Worked the First Time
We had a pile of Master Locks - key storage type - that had a combo on them that no one knew, we saved hundreds of $$ using this tool to change the combo on them.

Essential
If I had to choose only two hook picks, one would be the Hook 1 (.025), and the other would be this Hook 7 (.015). This hook works well in narrow keyways and in locks with extreme high-low bitting which are the two most common situations where the Hook 1 (.025) is deficient. It's thin and delicate, so it requires finesse when using.
