My good friend Jesse (last name withheld for her privacy) suggested this set!
Start with a calfskin roll case (LO-08); one that has plenty of room to add picks as your hobby grows.
Then add 4 turning tools of various thicknesses and widths.
Add some picks for starting:
A diamond pick, a double rake, a hooked diamond, a long ripple (city rake), and a hook 1 (make that one a high durometer gov steel pick!).
